Data

Committed to the principles of open science and reproducibility, I contribute to the development of large, regularly updated, and ready-to-use datasets for research and teaching.

One example is the dataset “Patterns of Democracy in the Swiss Cantons (1979–2023)”, which enables the systematic study of political institutions across Switzerland’s 26 cantons, including governments, parliaments, party systems, and direct democracy, from a long-term comparative perspective.

To support students and early-career researchers in comparative politics, I have published an overview chapter that maps existing datasets, their coverage, and key strengths [Open Access]. The aim is to help students navigate available data sources and to empower them to conduct their own research using established and reliable datasets.
